Bermuda season checklist
Spring
NC State recommends mowing when Bermuda first turns green and basing nutrients on a soil test. Without a soil test, its calendar places the first nitrogen application several weeks after full green-up. For crabgrass prevention, use soil temperature and apply before germination.
Summer
Summer is the main Bermuda growth window. Track fertilizer, irrigation, mowing response, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and PGRs in the app so your program is based on response rather than memory.
Fall and winter
Shift from pushing growth to protecting the stand. Avoid late nitrogen pushes that conflict with extension guidance and use pre-emergent, potassium, and disease decisions only where the product label and local conditions support them.
