Lawn spray rate calculator
Scale a product label rate to your treated square footage, then calculate how much carrier water and how many tanks you need.
Fill in the fields to see your numbers. Results update as you type.
01The simple formula
Most homeowner turf labels give a rate per 1,000 square feet. Multiply that rate by your treated area divided by 1,000. Carrier water is separate: it is the water volume needed to spread that product evenly across the same area.
02Calibration still matters
A calculator tells you how much product belongs in the tank. It does not prove your sprayer actually applies that tank evenly. Extension calibration guidance uses measured output, travel speed, nozzle width, and gallons per 1,000 square feet to verify the real application rate.
03Before you spray
- Confirm the product is labeled for your turf species and target pest.
- Check temperature, wind, rainfast, water-in, PPE, and re-entry language.
- Do not exceed the label's per-application or annual maximum.
- Log the product, rate, carrier volume, weather, and target immediately.
