Zoysia lawn care calendar
Zoysia is slow to green up and slow to recover. A good calendar should be conservative, soil-temperature aware, and backed by treatment history.

01Spring
NC State recommends mowing zoysia when it first turns green and applying nitrogen about three weeks after green-up when no soil test is available. It also lists spring preemergence herbicide timing in its regional calendar, but local soil temperature should refine that window.
02Summer (you are here)
Zoysia growth and recovery are strongest in warm weather, but the grass can be sensitive to some postemergence herbicides. Log rates, active ingredients, and turf response before repeating a treatment.
03Fall and winter
NC State notes fall large patch prevention can be tied to soil temperatures consistently reaching 70°F. Avoid unnecessary nitrogen late in the year and keep a disease/photo log for recurring areas.
